Hunslet. Many locomotive operators prefer to refurbish existing units rather than the expense of new equipment. Hunslet's in-house, purpose-built diesel engine and power train transmission facilities allow us to complete cost-effective, total overhauls under strict quality control conditions.

Modern testing equipment and the skills of experienced technicians can extend the serviceable life of components and deliver substantial savings to customers.

Alternatively, locomotives can be completely refurbished and supplied with:

• 'new technology' ecologically-friendly diesel power units
• power-shift transmissions
• braking systems controlled via PLC systems for ease of maintenance, reliability and repeatability of functional controls

Impressive cab interiors, designed for low noise emissions, optimised exhaust gas suppression and fluid emission prevention can be included if required.
